  • A presentation given for the Seventh Annual Father Patrick J. Gillooly Memorial Dinner and Lecture hosted by St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia on June 19, 2018. ​

Episode 1: The History of the Idea of Distributism
  • This episode covers the history of the ideologies that ultimately led to the development of Catholic Social Teaching, and in turn to the explication of the Distributist thesis.

    • This episode covers primarily Belloc's and Chesterton's critiques of Capitalism and Socialism; gives a brief introduction to the thought of Father Vincent McNabb, O.P. (d. 1943); offers an overview of some of the central themes and tenets in Distributist thought; and rounds out with a story of illustration - with a recipe included for fun.
