A paper presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements of a course on Modern Critical Theory at Marquette University in the Fall of 2010. In it, I attempt to trace contemporary Catholic social and theological currents to their influences in Evelyn Waugh's central novel, Brideshead Revisited, in order to suggest an avenue for further scholarship in the field of Waugh studies.
